Dhanush and Aishwarya
Rajinikanth have officially been granted a divorce by the Chennai Family Welfare Court, citing unresolved marital issues. Reports indicate that the case was previously heard three times, but both parties were absent. According to Sun TV,
Aishwarya attended court on Thursday, and the final decree is expected to be issued on November 27.
An old clip went viral shortly after they announced their divorce years ago. In the video, Dhanush revealed what attracted him to Aishwarya. Dhanush told ETimes in an old interview that he admires Aishwarya’s simplicity. "I don’t see her like that. I like her simplicity. If you think her father is simple, meet Aishwaryaa. She is 100 times simpler than her father."
Following their separation announcement in 2022, many initially reported it as a 'family quarrel' rather than a divorce. Dhanush's father and filmmaker, Kasthuri Raja, later clarified that the reason behind Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s split was a disagreement. He told the Indian Express that it was a usual and normal fight between a married couple.

On January 17, 2022, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa took to their social media handles to publicly announce their divorce, ending their 18 years of marriage. Their statement read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, as a couple, as parents, and as well-wishers to each other... The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting... Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand ourselves as individuals for the better. Please respect our decision and give us the privacy we need to deal with this. Om Namashivayaa. Spread Love."
On the work front, Dhanush was recently seen in 'Raayan', his second directorial venture, where he played the lead role alongside Dushara Vijayan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and S.J. Suryah. ETimes review for 'Raayan' read, "It is a credit to the strength of Dhanush's command over storytelling and the performances that Raayan manage to overcome its weakest aspect - predictability. Even if we realise at the back of our minds that given this particular premise, almost all the plot points that the film reaches are inevitable as the story moves towards its logical conclusion, we also can't help but wonder if Dhanush could have been a little more ambitious and chosen to take things to a different space, at least with some of them. This might not have come across as a noteworthy issue if this had been just another sophomore effort, but given the credentials of this filmmaker and actor, who has raised the bar quite high for himself, it feels a considerable one."
Dhanush's upcoming film 'Kubera' features a star-studded cast including Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film, directed by Sekhar Kammula, promises an exciting collaboration, blending their talents for what is expected to be a highly anticipated project. The plot and further details are still under wraps, but fans are eagerly awaiting this venture from the acclaimed director and talented cast.
