S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ has been facing a lot of hurdles in securing a release in Karnataka, all thanks to the comments made by actor Sathyaraj about the state. Many people protested against the release of the film as retaliation for the actor’s hurtful comments and demanded that the actor issue an unconditional apology. Now, it looks like Sathyaraj has finally relented.

The actor released a short video in which he apologized for his hurtful comments. He said that he came to know that the release of ‘Baahubali 2’ is getting hampered due to a speech he gave about the Cauvery water dispute almost nine years ago. He added that he is not against Kannadigas in any way and that his personal assistant for over thirty-five years is a Kannadiga himself. Finally, he appealed to the public that he is but a small worker in the film and that the epic should not be punished for the comments he made in the past.
A day before the actor’s apology, director Rajamouli also released a video pleading with the people of Karnataka to not protest against the release of the film as it will hurt only the film and not the actor. He also added that the comments made by Sathyaraj were his individual opinion and that no one else agrees with it. With the veteran actor finally issuing an apology, it remains to be seen if things will simmer down in the state and if the film will be allowed to release without further hassles.
