Ever since the advent of AI tools, people around the world have been finding creative and surprising ways to use them in daily life. Using AI chatbots for writing emails and solving math problems has become a daily task.
Apart from this, using artificial intelligence for planning trips and even generating art has also become a new trend. India is a multicultural country, and various languages are used across its expanse. Among this, Chat GPT is finding an interesting role to play.
While the tool was originally designed for natural language processing and conversation, users are now discovering how AI can also help to solve very real, very human situations as simple as translating across languages.

Recently a viral story from India showed how creatively people are using ChatGPT, where a content creator used the AI to negotiate an auto fare in Kannada.
In the video content creator Sajan Mahto showed how ChatGPT can bridge India’s linguistic divides. The video has reportedly been shot in Bengaluru, where tensions over non-Kannada speakers have often been a part of headlines. Mahto used the AI’s voice feature to translate his request to a local auto-rickshaw driver.
He told the AI, “Auto guy saying that the fare is Rs 200, I want him to reduce it to Rs 100. I am a student and I cross from here daily. Talk to him nicely, like my bigger brother.” ChatGPT responded in fluent Kannada, explaining the situation politely to the driver.
In the video, the driver, initially firm on Rs 200, eventually agreed to Rs 120. Mahto smiled, accepted the offer, and hopped into the auto, leaving viewers impressed.
While many assumed the video was candid, Mahto later clarified it was planned, “Use ChatGPT for language translation FREE!! This is an attempt to educate… This is an act performed not real Autowala.”
The viral video got several likes, reshares, and comments, where viewers praised the creative use of AI. A user wrote, “Divided by language, united by Technologiya”. Another said , “Kannada language problem solved for non-Kannada people.”
This is not the only case , where Chat GPT usage has gone viral. Earlier, a X user @infinozz decided to test Chat GPT’s image generation abilities by making a fake Bumble profile of a woman. What started as a joke quickly went viral.
“Seizure mode. My phone almost died with 2000+ likes,” he wrote in his post.
