• Trump's tariff pause kicks in, but not for China
Less than 24 hours after his "reciprocal" tariffs came into effect, Trump imposed a 90-day pause on the tariff hikes for most countries, capping duties at 10%—but raised China’s to 125% instead. The pause is effective immediately. China had hiked tariffs on US goods from 34% to 84%, retaliating against Washington’s 104% duties imposed a day earlier.
