Pakistan launched multiple coordinated attempts to engage military targets across Northern and Western India on Wednesday night, but all attacks were successfully intercepted and neutralised by the air defence systems, senior officials from the defence ministry said, reported PTI.According to the officials, the Pakistani military attempted to strike key military locations, including Adampur, Bhatinda, and Chandigarh, among others.“Every attempt was foiled by our integrated air defence systems,” one official said.The authorities confirmed that the response was measured yet firm. “Our response has been in the same domain and with the same intensity as Pakistan’s aggression,” the officials added.

According to the defence ministry, 16 civilians, including three women and five children, were killed in the unprovoked shelling, prompting India to return fire to "bring Pakistani artillery to a halt."On the night of May 7-8, Pakistan launched a large-scale drone and missile assault targeting Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj.
