Sophie Kinsella returns to the Shopaholic series with a new book

Popular author Sophie Kinsella is best known for her hit Shopaholic series featuring the much-loved character Becky Bloomwood. The last book in the series Shopaholic to the Rescue was published in 2015. Now, four years later, Transworld has announced that the author will return to her bestselling series with the book Christmas Shopaholic which will release this year.
Kinsella wrote the first book in the Shopaholic series titled The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic in 2000 introducing the readers to their favourite shopaholic Becky Bloomwood, a financial journalist who is a shopaholic and ironically couldn't control her finances. Following its huge success, the book was adapted into the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic in 2009 starring Isla Fisher as Becky and Hugh Dancy as her crush Luke. The upcoming novel Christmas Shopaholic will release almost 20 years after the first Shopaholic book came out.
Confirming the news, Kinsella said on her website, “I’m thrilled to be returning to the world of Becky Bloomwood and can’t wait to share the next installment of her story with you. Becky is so close to my heart and I can’t believe it’s been twenty years since she first popped into my mind, credit card and shopping bags in hand!”

Details about the book are under wraps. Christmas Shopaholic is expected to release in October 2019.
