Nitish Kumar Reddy IPL Record and Career

The young Andhra Pradesh all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is making the headlines for all the right reasons currently after his performances down under in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar series. India may have lost the series but Reddy has emerged as one of the few positives from the series. Nitish Kumar Reddy was purchased by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 auction for INR 20 Lakh. Reddy is relatively inexperienced on the IPL stage with just two seasons under his belt so far. In the 2023 IPL, he batted in just two games and did not score any runs and also had no wickets to his name.
However, come the 2024 IPL, Nitish Kumar Reddy was retained by the Sunrisers. He repaid their faith by scoring 303 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 142.92 with 2 half-centuries to his name. He also picked up 3 wickets. These performances were enough for the Indian selectors to take notice and Reddy made his International debut against Bangladesh in a T20I in October 2024. To the surprise of many, Reddy was selected in the squad to tour Australia for the 5-match Border-Gavaskar series as well. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored his maiden International hundred in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. India have well and truly found another exciting all-round prospect thanks to the IPL. He comes in as a welcome addition to India’s seam-bowling all-rounder’s stock.
