IPL 2025: PBKS vs MI tie moved to Ahmedabad, all you need to know

Due to the closure of Dharamshala airport until May 10th following Operation Sindoor, the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, originally scheduled for May 11th in Dharamshala, has been relocated to Ahmedabad. The Gujarat Cricket Association has agreed to host the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, maintaining the original 3:30 pm start time.

MUMBAI: Operation Sindoor has had an immediate impact on the ongoing IPL. TOI has learnt that the 3:30 pm match on May 11 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, originally scheduled at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, has been moved to Ahmedabad. This change comes as the Dharamshala airport — located in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh near the Pakistan border — remains shut until May 10.“The BCCI approached us with a request to hold the match and we expressed our readiness for it,” Gujarat Cricket Association (GCS) secretary Anil Patel told TOI .The match at the Narendra Modi Stadium is expected to begin at 3:30 pm, the same time it was originally scheduled to start. The Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings, who faced Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala on Thursday night before the game was called off, will travel to Ahmedabad on Friday if the match is allowed to be staged.
Mumbai Indians, who were scheduled to travel to Dharamshala on Wednesday, will now head to Ahmedabad. In fact, their star player, India’s T20 vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav, attended the T20 Mumbai auction on Wednesday. There was a possibility that Mumbai could have hosted the match, but unlike Mumbai, Ahmedabad serves as a neutral venue for both teams.
