Gather the Materials

For spawning the Wither, you will need,

4 Soul Sand or Soul Soil- it’s found abundantly in the Soul Sand Valleys in the Nether.
3 Wither Skeleton Skulls- it’s dropped by the Wither Skeletons in the Nether Fortresses. With the drop rate of 2.5%, it can take time. So, bring the looting-enchanted sword, for improving the odds.

Summon the Wither

Build a structure- place Soul Soil or Soul Sand in the T-shape (3 blocks across the top and 1 block that’s centered below).
Add Skulls- place the Wither Skeleton Skull on the top of each of the 3 upper blocks.
Stand Back- after the final skull gets placed, the Wither will spawn. It would grow in size and then explode. With it, the rampage will start.

Pro Tip: Spawn Wither in the underground, enclosed space to limit mobility and then destruction.

Prepare for the Battle

The Wither isn’t a pushover, so make sure to come prepared. Gear up like your life is dependent on it because it does.

Armor- Netherite or Diamond armor with the Protection or the Blast Protection enchantments.
Potions- Regeneration, Strength, and Healing Potions are important.
Weapons- smile-enchanted sword as it can cause extra damage to the undead; and the power-enchanted bow is for the ranged attacks.
Shield- block the Wither Skulls to avoid any explosive damage.
Milk Buckets- used to cure the Wither effect, which drains your health over time.

Battle Phases

The Wither fight has 2 phases.

Phase 1

In it, the Wither ascends, raining the explosive black skulls. The projectiles inflict the Wither effect while draining health over time. So, stay mobile. Use the pillars or the terrain as cover. Pepper it with the arrows while dodging the attacks from a distance.
Tip: drink the milk immediately, in case your health starts to drain.

Phase 2

It’s all about grounded rampage. At half health, the Wither starts gaining the blue shield (nullifies the ranged attacks) and then descending to the ground level. It charges the headfirst for crushing you.
Switch to the Smite-enchanted sword and then strike relentlessly. In the Bedrock Edition, watch for the sudden dash— and dodge sideways to avoid getting flattened.

Victory comes with Rewards

After being defeated, the Wither will drop,

Nether Star- Minecraft Nether Star is used to craft the Beacon. It provides some powerful buffs like Jump Boost, Speed, and Haste when paired with the pyramid of Gold, Iron, or Netherite blocks.
Experience Points- the hefty amount for leveling up the gear.

Survival Tactics and Tips

Avoid the open areas when fighting the Wither. It can cause massive destruction.
Clear the area- remove the valuable structures and mobs to prevent collateral damage.
