Conor McGregor has yet again made headlines through his cryptic social media posts that signal towards the UFC star’s transition to a different league. While McGregor is yet to compete in two more fights as per his UFC contract, the Notorious has displayed no intent to do so shortly. As 2024 served as an incredible opportunity to make his most-awaited comeback, 2025 does not look as promising for McGregor. With no recorded drug tests and Dana White’s unusual silence, the possibility of something huge brewing seems likely.

Conor McGregor drops hints about his UFC career and fans are freaking out

McGregor was reportedly assigned to give drug tests eleven times last year, the same as Arman Tsarukyan. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if we disclosed that out of eleven, McGregor has not even given a single sample to date. Even though McGregor’s nonchalant behavior continues to delay his comeback to UFC, his intention to fight has not wavered even after years of not competing inside the ring. After the former dual-weight champion stepped out of his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 due to an injury, he has invested much of his time fulfilling other endeavors, including his position as a promoter for BKFC.
McGregor’s recent reupload on his social platform with the caption “I’m pump action” has created buzz among the fans and the industry alike. As the fans went into a frenzy to understand the motive behind the story, they were left questioning the much-awaited return of the Notorious to the combat sport. With constant questioning about his comeback, McGregor ensured his return to the combat sports at the BKFC if possible; he stated, “For sure. If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure, Conor McGregor will fight in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Mark my words.”

Is Conor McGregor’s UFC return on the horizon?

Days after expressing his willingness to return to the sport, McGregor uploaded stories of his intense training session, pointed towards the UFC star’s bare knuckles, hinting towards a transition we did not see coming. Moreover, Dana White’s silence on this topic has created numerous speculations, as the UFC president has been on the lookout to get the biggest star back to the bay. There could be a possibility that UFC and BKFC might plan something to make the biggest UFC stars’ comeback.
Further adding on to this buzz, former UFC fighter Brandan Schuab stated, “There is something at stake. I think the UFC will probably be willing to collaborate in that regard because they collaborate with Bare Knuckle. And Conor is an owner, a minority owner, so there might be something there if that gets Conor back in the ring.” Even though the upcoming plans have not been disclosed, McGregor’s return to the combat sport seems to be promising.
