Eddie Hall shares weight-cut diet for MMA debut vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski

Former World's Strongest Man, Eddie Hall, has shed 30 pounds in eight weeks on a carnivore diet, consuming only meat, eggs, and dairy, in preparation for his MMA debut against Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Poland on April 26, 2025. Hall believes maintaining his size gives him a competitive edge, focusing on cardiovascular fitness to endure the fight's rounds.

Key highlights

  • Eddie Hall has lost 30 pounds in just 8 weeks for his MMA debut fight.
  • He is on a strict carnivore diet and claims it gets the best results.
  • Even though he lost a lot of weight, Eddie's focus remained more on cardio rather than weight reduction
Former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall has lost 30 pounds from his body during eight weeks while following a carnivore diet before fighting Mariusz Pudzianowski in his MMA debut. The heavyweight strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski makes his professional MMA debut at KSW 105 in Gliwice, Poland, on April 26, 2025, following about two years of training.

Eddie Hall's carnivore diet yields impressive results

For his professional MMA debut, Eddie Hall has embraced an unconventional nutritional strategy after having faced Hafthor Bjornsson in boxing and winning two opponents in a "Freak Fight" 2v1 match. The fighter eats only meat, together with eggs and dairy, while maintaining complete abstention from vegetables alongside all other food groups.

Before his fight preparation, the World's Strongest Man champion of 2017 started at 170kg (374lb) and achieved his weight reduction to 158kg (348lb). Eddie Hall plans to fight at 155kg (341lb), but this weight stands approximately 60 pounds above the heaviest weight Mariusz Pudzianowski ever reached in competition.
"I just eat nothing but meat, eggs, and dairy on the carnivore diet for this fight prep," Eddie Hall explained in an interview. "It's been a pretty good diet, helped me to maintain all of my muscle mass, and I've dropped body fat. My energy levels are through the roof, my endurance is insane."

Former strongman maintains size advantage for competitive edge

Unlike some strongmen who dramatically reduce weight when transitioning to combat sports, such as Hafthor Bjornsson, who shed over 110 pounds before facing Eddie Hall in boxing, the 6'2" Eddie Hall believes maintaining substantial size provides a strategic advantage in MMA competition.
"I'm strong and I'm a big believer that taking that into MMA makes you more dangerous," Eddie Hall stated. "Mariusz proved that point when he first came into MMA and fought around 140kg, his size and strength; people were just scared of him."

Eddie Hall emphasised that his focus remains on cardiovascular fitness rather than weight reduction, ensuring he can handle four-minute rounds with 90-second recovery periods. Fans can watch Eddie Hall make his MMA debut against Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 on April 26th in Gliwice, Poland, available on KSW's official streaming platform.
