Brawls between fighters and fans have become a common thing in the world of combat sports. One of the recent ones was when a fan trying to attack Conor McGregor at BKFC Dubai was put down by the security members of his team. The fight did not escalate, but it caught the attention of the whole MMA community. Lerone Murphy was caught in a similar situation after his career-defining win against Josh Emmett. While in these two cases, a near fight and a confrontation were averted, sometimes fighters do get involved in a physical brawl, which might land them in a legal situation. Former UFC middleweight contenderAlex Nicholson got involved in one such physical fight with a fan after the fighter’s defeat at XFC 52 against Darion Abbey.

With an MMA record of 17-11-0, Alex Nicholson has been part of some of the best promotions within the combat sport circuit, including the prestigious UFC. While the fighter’s UFC career was a short-lived one, he is currently a part of the XFC after having explored himself in promotions like PFL, Titan FC, LFA, AFC and others. His last bout was against Darion Abbey at XFC 52 after getting defeated by Frank Tate at Bareknuckle MMA. Abbey defeated the fighter as well by a knockout punch in the first round itself. Nicholson’s last five MMA records stand at 2-3.
The bout at XFC 52 was interrupted by a doctor’s stoppage leading to the exit of the fighter from the cage and walking towards the dressing room. The fact that the fight did not even last for two minutes met with criticism and mocking from an arrogant fan. As claimed by the fighter in a comment on social media, the fan mocked Nicholson while calling him a “p**sy”. An enraged Nicholson rushed towards the fan and landed a few punches on him before being held back by the members of the security team. The mocking however went on and the brawl continued for a few seconds.

Defending his act, the fighter commented on a post describing the incident, “Believed I would never see out of that eye again then he grabs my arm and whispers in my ear "ill kill you pussy loser." some souls should be recycled by the good lord. Unrighteous always will learn to be humble around me. I can see!! I am healthy and will compete again. For the record I slap this guy 1000/1000 times 🙏😂🤙🏼 God bless”

While no legal action has been initiated against the fighter as of yet, the fighter has justified his act owing to the inappropriate comments made by the fan. Members of the MMA community have sided with the fighter stating how they are humans as well and go through a lot during a fight. Fans of the sport should sometimes be considerate about what they speak and how they speak about it.
