Cam Fowler became franchise history in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The St. Louis Blues blue-liner tallied five points in one game, a feat no defenseman in Blues franchise history has done in the playoffs. His single goal and four assists propelled the team to an easy 7-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Such incredible play now places him among a very elite group of NHL legends, and fans won't soon forget this evening.

Cam Fowler shatters Blues playoff record with five points in a game

Cam Fowler played a huge role in Game 3 against the Winnipeg Jets. Cam assisted the St. Louis Blues to a 7-2 victory by getting one goal and providing four assists. That is five points within a single playoff game, something no defense player in Blues history has achieved so far.

Previously, the record was held by Brian Benning, who recorded four points during a playoff game in 1987. The record lasted for 37 years until Fowler shattered it in style. It wasn't all about the numbers. Cam Fowler was omnipresent on the ice. He assisted in creating plays, prevented goals from going in, and seemed cool and composed all evening long.
Due to Cam Fowler's performance, the Blues now hold a 2-1 series advantage. They are in great shape heading into Game 4, and fans are praying Fowler continues in this vein.

Only seven other NHL blueliners have achieved what Cam Fowler did

Cam Fowler didn't merely make history with the Blues, he made some NHL history as well. Just seven other blueliners in the entire league have ever notched five or more points in one playoff contest.
The list includes some of the all-time greatest defensemen, such as Paul Coffey (6 points), Denis Potvin (5), Al MacInnis (5), Eddie Bush (5), Bob Dailey (5), Cale Makar (5), and Risto Siltanen (5). Cam Fowler is now among that exclusive group.
The coach and teammates were also complimentary. The coach described Cam Fowler as "the best player on the ice tonight". The audience greeted him with a massive roar after the last whistle, while social media went wild with his fans rejoicing over his success. It was a significant milestone, not only for Fowler but for the whole Blues squad.
