Elon Musk makes an addition to 'dating checklist' for women

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has advised women to add something new to their dating checklist: "post-apocalyptic warlord potential." He thinks it's becoming more important for women to think about, if a man could be a warlord after the world ends. This idea started when someone joked online and shared a post on social media platform X (earlier Twitter) saying, "Ladies, should you check if your date could be a post-apocalyptic warlord?" Musk's reply, and the joke itself, which uses pictures from the Mad Max movie franchise, quickly became popular online.

Replying to this post, Musk wrote: “Increasingly significant consideration.”
The image seems to be shot from the Mad Max movie franchise. It features Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky, standing next to the "Last of the V8 Interceptors". The Mad Max series is set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic Australia.
The Mad Max series debuted in 1979 with Mad Max, starring Mel Gibson, and was followed by three sequels: Mad Max 2 (1981), Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985), and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). A prequel centered on Imperator Furiosa was released in Australia on May 23, 2024.

Elon Musk admits watching this AI apocalypse movie multiple times

Recently, Musk also expressed his fascination with a film depicting an AI-driven apocalypse, admitting he has watched it more than seven times. In another post on X, he didn’t name the movie explicitly, but his mention of an AI apocalypse in 2029 and a GIF strongly indicate he was referring to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Musk also shared that he recently rewatched the film with his son, X Æ A-12, whom he fondly calls “Lil X.”

Replying to the X thread that asked, “Name a movie you’ve seen more than 7 times with a GIF”, Musk wrote: “Just watched that again a few nights ago with lil X. The movie predicts AI apocalypse in 2029.”
Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a legendary sci-fi film that envisions a dystopian future where Skynet, a self-aware AI, sparks a nuclear war, showcasing the chilling dangers of uncontrolled artificial intelligence.
The story revolves around preventing Judgment Day, the catastrophic event in which Skynet launches a nuclear holocaust, leading to a future where its robotic army dominates the post-apocalyptic world of 2029.
Central to the film’s conflict is the battle to change this fate. The reprogrammed T-800, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, is sent to protect young John Connor, while the relentless T-1000, a shape-shifting liquid metal Terminator, represents the terrifying advancements of AI-driven machines. The movie’s lasting impact comes from its stark warning about the potential consequences of AI surpassing human control.
