Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has said that the US-Canada take by US President
Donald Trump in making the country ‘51st state’ has boosted her patriotism and deepened her love for Canada. This comes as there’s a growing petition that has called for the revocation of Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship.
“I’m ngl this Canadian ’51st state’ s**t has upped my Canadian patriotism by about 5000000%,” said Vivian, one of the children Musk had with his first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, in a post on Threads last week.
She replied to here post saying, “‘Are you Canadian’ yes. My mom is from there, my mom’s parents are from there, their parents are from there, etc. I am literally a Canadian citizen, argue w the national government idk💀”.
Petition to revoke Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship
A growing petition is calling for the revocation of Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship, with more than 250,000 Canadian citizens and residents signing in support. The parliamentary petition urges the Canadian government to strip Musk of his citizenship and passport, accusing him of acting against the country's national interest and sovereignty.
The petition, which opened for signatures late last week, claims Musk is a close associate of the US President, who recently announced a 25% tariff on all Canadian imports set to take effect next month. Trump has also floated the controversial idea of annexing Canada as the 51st U.S. state—an idea the petitioners argue is directly opposed to Canadian sovereignty.
The petition alleges that Musk has used his wealth and influence to meddle in Canada’s political affairs, further stating: “He has now become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty.”
In response to the petition, Musk made a provocative statement on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “Canada is not a real country.” However, he later deleted the post without explanation. Given his history of outspoken and controversial remarks, it remains unclear why he chose to remove it.
Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Musk became a Canadian citizen as a teenager through his mother, Maye Musk, who was born in Canada. He later moved to the United States on a student visa and obtained US citizenship a decade later.
