Sarabjot Singh, a young athlete from Dheen village of Ambala, Haryana, found his passion in shooting at the age of 13.
Sarabjot's interest was sparked during a summer camp where he saw kids using air guns at a makeshift range. Despite initial aspirations to become a footballer, the sight of aiming at paper targets with pistols stayed with him.
In 2014, Sarabjot expressed his desire to pursue shooting to his father, Jitender Singh, a farmer.
His father, understanding the financial implications of the sport, initially hesitated. However, Sarabjot's persistence paid off.
Under the guidance of coach Abhishek Rana, Sarabjot honed his shooting skills. His hard work culminated in winning the Gold medal at the Junior World Championship in Suhl in 2019.
Sarabjot's educational journey took place at DAV College in Chandigarh, with his family comprising his father, Jatinder Singh, and his mother, Hardeep Kaur, a homemaker.
Today, Sarabjot Singh stands out as a significant figure in the shooting sports arena, exemplifying dedication and perseverance.
