When Shankar Chakraborty donned the garb of Uttam Kumar

Actor Shankar Chakraborty, who is a popular name in Tollywood, is all set to rock the small screen once again.
The actor is gearing up to play Madhu, the character of Uttam Kumar from the Shakti Samanta directed film Amanush. The episode, an adaptation of Shaktipada Rajguru’s novel Amanush, will be part of the weekly series Porday Boi Pora. Debjani Chatterjee will be playing Lekha, opposite Shankar Chakraborty, which was originally played by Sharmila Tagore in the film.Talking about his character Shankar Chakraborty said, “We have tried to adapt the novel in small screen and I have given my best effort to portray the character. Madhu, the vagabond, the rowdy was brilliantly played by Uttam babu. I never tried to imitate him but kept it close to the way Shaktupadababu sketched it in the novel.”
