I want to do lead roles now: Anupamaa actress Nidhi Shah, who quit the show before the makers decided to take a leap

Nidhi Shah, best known for her role as Kinjal in Anupamaa, recently shot her last episode. Ask Nidhi if her decision to quit the show was because of the time leap, and she says, “I had planned to quit much before the leap was announced. It’s been four years, and I feel blessed to have been a part of Anupamaa. In the beginning, my character had good scope, but in the past one year, I was not able to connect with Kinjal. Of course, the makers tried to bring about a few changes, but that didn’t really help. I informed them about my decision to quit a few months ago.”
Sharing how TV actors lead a hectic life, Nidhi says, “I am focusing on my health now because the long hours at work, which is normal for any TV actor, did take a toll on me. I was not eating well and didn’t have enough time to exercise. Now, I have time for myself and want to focus on my mental health as well.”
‘I want to focus on OTT projects and movies now’
Nidhi, who started her career as a child actor in films and then made her TV debut in Jaana Na Dil Se Door, shares how she is keen to explore different mediums. “I want to focus on upgrading my skills and doing more content-rich roles on different platforms. TV has helped me grow as an actor, but now I also want to focus on OTT projects and movies.”
