Avinash Mukherjee, who was last seen in the TV show Sasural Simar Ka 2 playing a lead role, shares how he has kept away from doing shows because he is waiting for the right role. The Balika Vadhu actor revealed how he has devoted his time to honing his acting skills and turned writer in the past one year.
Avinash is the writer of the short film Ek Duaa, which won the 69th National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film in 2023.
The film's director is Ram Kamal Mukherjee. He said, "I wrote a short film Ek Dua, which won a National award in 2023. When my film won a national award, I felt extremely proud. As a child I used to enjoy writing short stories, shayaris and apart from acting, I enjoy writing. It gives me a lot of job satisfaction."
Avinash added, "I have also studied and watched a lot of Indian cinema, international cinema and enjoy reading about screenwriting and watching Guru Dutt and Madhubala films." The actor shares how he is ready for OTT but not films. He said, "I am auditioning for OTT projects and TV shows, but too young to be in films. As of now I want to focus on becoming a good actor before I can do films."
The actor reveals why he has not taken up any work in the past one year. He said, "SSK2 was my first show as a lead actor and it was well-received by the masses. I genuinely feel that I don't want to go below what standards I have set as an actor in the show or people's expectations. I did get offers, but it was not what I had done but something which did not convince me. They honestly admitted how the show will be mounted well but later it will follow the saas-bahu format. I was surprised they told you this before the show started."
