Simaran Kaur has emerged as one of the most promising actresses in the entertainment industry. From lending her voice to the beloved character Nobita in the iconic cartoon series Doraemon to essaying the powerful character of Riddhi Chotwani in Jamai No. 1, Simaran has certainly come a long way.
Reflecting on her journey, Simaran shares, “Starting as a voice-over artist was a unique experience. It required me to bring emotions to life without being physically present on screen, which is quite a challenge. But it taught me to emote with depth, which I carry with me in my acting career today.”
“Agnifera was my first big break, and it taught me so much about the craft. Playing Srishti was both exciting and challenging because she was such a fierce character with her own moral code. It pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and explore emotions I had never portrayed before. Every role has been a learning experience. From my early days in Agnifera to now playing Riddhi Chotwani, I’ve grown not just as an actor but as a person. I’ve learned to be more expressive, more subtle, and to connect with my characters on a deeper level.”
Having witnessed the industry evolve over the years, Simaran notes, “The entertainment industry has seen a massive transformation, especially with the advent of OTT platforms. The audience’s tastes have broadened, and there’s a demand for fresh, realistic, and unconventional content. This shift has opened doors for many actors to explore diverse roles and challenge themselves.”
She elaborates, “Earlier, the industry was confined to certain formulas, but today, storytelling has become more inclusive and layered. This change excites me as an actor because it allows me to step into more challenging and meaningful roles.”
Speaking about the fast-paced nature of the industry, Simaran says, “It’s not just about glamour anymore. Talent, authenticity, and originality are being valued more than ever. The audience has become intelligent, and they know what they want to watch. That keeps us on our toes as actors.”
Speaking about her current role as Riddhi Chotwani, Simaran reveals, “Riddhi is a character that has grown beautifully. She’s strong, compassionate, and relatable, which is why I think the audience has connected with her so well. The feedback I have been receiving is heartwarming and motivates me to push my boundaries further.”
Speaking on Jamai No. 1 Simaran says, “The show is special because it dares to break away from traditional storytelling. It’s not just about drama; it’s about characters with depth, unconventional relationships, and realistic conflicts. Unlike many shows that stick to stereotypes, Jamai No. 1 has redefined how we see relationships and family dynamics. It’s fresh, engaging, and connects with the modern audience.”
