Kiku Sharda to play Akbar again

Funnyman Kiku Sharda may have been under a lot of pressure in the last few days, but he has reason to smile now. He will be seen playing Emperor Akbar once again. The show 'Akbar Birbal', which originally had Kiku and Vishal Kotian playing the lead characters, underwent a change last year and two other actors were brought in to play the roles. But the channel now wants to revert to the original team.Says a source, “The new cast failed to generate good ratings and so the show went off air. But now, the original team will be back with a new season.”

Kiku confirmed, “I think the channel had different plans at that time, so they replaced us. But now everything has worked out between us and I am looking forward to the new innings.”
