Times are changing and the small screen is making way for unique concepts breaking stereotypes associated with the medium. Producer Rajita Sharma is all set to launch a show, which will be different from what we usually watch on TV. Her new family drama will revolve around a couple in their 60s. Veteran actors
Sushmita Mukherjee and
Rajendra Gupta have been finalised to play the lead couple.
Informs a source associated with the show, “It’s an interesting mature story and something that’s not been attempted in a long time. We are extremely happy to have Sushmita Mukherjee and Rajendra Gupta on board for the show. They liked the concept and there can be no better actors than them to pull the two characters off. The rest of the casting is underway. We are hoping to finalise everything soon and the show will go on floors after that. Indian TV is opening to newer concepts and the audience today wants to watch something different. This show is a step in that direction.”
Both Sushmita Mukherjee and Rajendra Gupta refused to comment on the news. Producer Rajita Sharma, too, didn’t respond to our text message.
Sushmita Mukherjee, who became a household name as Kitty in the spy drama Karamchand, has featured in several TV shows including Balika Vadhu, Ishqbaaaz, TV Biwi Aur Main.
