It has been great acting in multiple languages, says Soundarya Reddy
Actress Soundarya Reddy, one of the rising stars in the TV space, has acted in serials across three languages. “My first serial, Raaji, was in Kannada, after which I did serials in Tamil and Telugu (Meenakshi Ponnunga and Padamati Sandhyaragam, respectively). It has been great acting in multiple languages,” she tells us.
Soundarya, who can also speak all three languages, shares, “I’m originally from Hyderabad and I live in Bengaluru. My mother tongue is Telugu, but as I was born and brought up in Bengaluru, I know proper Kannada as well.”
Her newest project is the Tamil serial Getti Melam, about which she reveals, “In this serial, my character, Anjali, is sort of a rowdy baby. She is very jovial and is also a beautiful singer. My character in my previous Tamil serial Meenakshi Ponnunga, which had ended a few months ago, was also a good one, but this one is quite different from that role.”

Soundarya signs off by telling us that she does have film aspirations, but isn’t actively seeking out anything yet. The actress shares, “I’m not someone who wants to be everywhere. If I get offers, then I will try for movies. It’s exactly how I came into the TV industry as well. The opportunity came to me, so I picked it up and did it.”
