UP police files FIR against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai on criminal conspiracy charges

Uttar Pradesh police filed an FIR against director Leena Manimekalai for hurting religious sentiments. The director had shared the poster of her upcoming documentary ‘Kaali’ on Twitter which landed her in the controversy. The poster depicted Goddess Kali smoking a cigarette. The FIR has been filed under multiple IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections. The Delhi Police IFSO unit has also filed the FIR under IPC sections 153A and 295A.
