Mira Nair's politician-rapper son Zohran Mamdani wins seat in New York State Assembly

Filmmaker Mira Nair's son Zohran Mamdani has won a seat in the New York State Assembly in the on-going United States Presidential Elections 2020. Zohran is the first South Asian to win the seat. Zohran announce the news via Twitter where he wrote, 'It's official: we won. I'm going to Albany to fight to tax the rich, heal the sick, house the poor & build a socialist New York. But I can't do it alone. To win socialism, we'll need a mass movement of the multiracial working class as well. So let's build one. Join @nycDSA'. Besides being a politician, Zohran is also a rapper and housing counselor, who grew up in New York.
