Episode 12 of ‘Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time’ is a turning point for Takumi's story, with major realignments of alliances and the potential for future battles. The episode is set three months after the first summoning of heroes and reveals Takumi's settlement developing into the prosperous Wedgefort. Takumi is recruited by Papek to transport the summoned heroes, Akira and Yamato, to Bakilatos.
When they arrive, the heroes' true nature is seen as Akira and Yamato demonstrate abusive tendencies toward civilians as they try to buy Máni and Sofia. Takumi is repulsed by their actions and stops them, refusing to let them get away with such exploitation. He quickly ends their tyranny by breaking Akira's sword and overpowering Yamato when they turn violent. This show of rebellion hits home, particularly with Akane.
Akane realized that Takumi is the answer to all those visions she was experiencing. With that, Akane made the final decision for herself: She would defect from the heroes' party and follow Takumi together with Lulu. This has further emphasized the growing distrust she had towards the summoned heroes as well as in the potentiality of Takumi. As an aftermath, Takumi validated her belief in him by confirming his past and thus stands against slavery-the inhuman practice, cancels all slave contracts.
Throughout the episode, an impending danger looms in the shape of an incoming monster army threatening Wedgefort. To counter this, the Guild calls on elite adventurers to defend the settlement, marking a grand-scale conflict on the horizon.
The fight itself is expected to be a decisive one, ending soon and resulting in a celebratory party. In this celebration, Takumi might have a personal talk with Lady Nolyn. Lady Nolyn will be expected to reveal an essential revelation that will end the season and set the course for Takumi's upcoming adventures.
Episode 12 of ‘Perhaps the Greatest Alchemist of All Time’ will air on Japanese television at 10 pm JST on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
