AMRITSAR: Residents of Amritsar and parts of Gurdaspur were gripped by panic as multiple explosions were heard throughout Friday night, though no significant damage was reported. The district administration temporarily cut off electricity, which was restored early Saturday morning. According to reports, the blasts were heard near Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport and the Khasa area in Amritsar. Police launched a search operation late Friday night to locate any debris from a possible drone or missile neutralized by the army. In Jallupur Khera village near Beas, the native village of jailed MP Amritpal Singh, a drone reportedly crashed, though no damage was caused. In Gurdaspur’s Kahnuwan block, a loud thud around 4.45 AM on Saturday was reported in Raju Bela and nearby villages.
