Cuban-American actor William Levy recently made headlines after being arrested in Weston, a city in South Florida, on Monday.
According to a report from CBS News, the 44-year-old actor was taken into custody on two charges: disorderly intoxication in a public place and trespassing in an occupied structure or vehicle. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail and is currently awaiting trial, with no bond amount set yet.
As of now, not many details about the circumstances leading to his arrest have been made public. However, jail records confirm that both charges are pending. The Las Top News even shared his booking photo on Instagram, where Levy appeared visibly upset.
Based on Florida state law, if Levy is convicted, he could face a jail sentence. Disorderly intoxication might result in up to 60 days in jail, while trespassing in an occupied space could bring a sentence of up to one year.
This is not the first time Levy has been involved in a legal matter. As per Hola, an earlier incident occurred in 2024 when police were called to his home by his then-partner, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez. She reportedly told authorities that Levy was heavily intoxicated and in the company of another woman. Although the situation did not lead to legal action at the time, it attracted significant criticism on social media.
William Levy was born in Havana, Cuba, and moved to Miami during his teenage years, according to NBC 6. He rose to fame through his performances in Spanish-language telenovelas, becoming a popular name in the Latin entertainment world. Over time, he made a successful transition to English-language projects. His acting credits include roles in Addicted, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and Montecristo. He also appeared in Tyler Perry’s film The Single Moms Club and competed in Dancing With the Stars, where he gained further popularity.
Levy’s personal life has also drawn public attention. He and Mexican-American actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez began their relationship in 2003 after meeting on a reality show. They were together for over 20 years before separating in May 2024. The couple has two children: a son, Christopher, born in 2006, and a daughter, Kailey, born in 2010.
