Certainly, Rockstar. In a move much like its games, Rockstar kept fans on their toes by releasing the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in the same week that they announced a delay of its highly anticipated 2026 release. Although the original Fall 2025 launch window has slipped away, this latest trailer makes it all worthwhile, offering a much deeper look into the dynamic duo at the heart of the game, Jason and Lucia.
Vice City returns with a darker, deeper tone
Set against the burning neon glare of Vice City-now a region of the fictitious state of Leonida-GTA 6 appears to allow its trademark criminal mayhem to drift into the entirely different narrative angle-romance. The fabulous bestial trailer has Jason and Lucia, as not only partners in crime but also lovers in a spiraling array of heists, threats, and internal struggles.

Official story description: Crime, love, and conspiracy
Rockstar also dropped the very first official story description that explains how the couple embroils itself in a far-reaching conspiracy after a robbery gone wrong. "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them, but when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida-forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive," reads the description. The official GTA 6 website was also updated with new story details, screenshots, and so on, along with the trailer.
An action-heavy and emotional affair
The trailer shows Jason clocking in at some unglamorous job before slipping into crime-armed robbery, training on the beach, and finally bailing Lucia out of prison. Then, upon their return, he comes tumbling down with an avalanche of crimes: grand larceny, drunken assaults, underground fights, hijacking airplane carnivals, police pursuits, and killing.
For the long-term fans, a gun dealer named Phil makes an appearance, perhaps a nod toward Vice City's Phil Cassidy, once again adding another thread of continuity to the franchise's universe.
Coming May 26, 2026, for next-gen consoles, GTA 6 appears to be Rockstar's most ambitious game yet. With emotionally involved storylines, action-packed sequences, and an astonishingly detailed open world, witnessing the return of Vice City shall definitely be a rare experience.
