Formula 1 always radiates an extremely competitive vibe, where players are focused on outperforming their teammates to win a name. The tough competition between Charles Leclerc and his new teammate Lewis Hamilton is something all fans are looking forward to.
Lewis Hamilton has been the World Champion seven times, and now the question arises as to what the scenario of the competition would end up being.
The partnership with Ferrari grabs attention
Currently, there’s a sense of excitement and positivity surrounding the remarkable partnership between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari. They are all set to prepare for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
The 40-year-old driver will be making his 357th Formula 1 start, marking his first race with Ferrari and the beginning of a new chapter for the team in Maranello. Hamilton is also in pursuit of an eighth F1 title, but first, he needs to outperform Charles Leclerc.
The stage is all set for an exciting face-off between the two remarkable players. Lewis Hamilton has a record of the most pole position starts, with a remarkable 104. Charles Leclerc on the other hand is often regarded as one of the fastest drivers in the world.
Lewis Hamilton’s journey with Ferrari and Johnny Herbert’s take
Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert believes that the competition between teammates at Ferrari will elevate both drivers to new levels of performance. He stated, “I think it works both ways. Having a quick driver behind you serves as a wake-up call because you know your teammate is going to perform at their best.”
Johnny Herbert referenced Leclerc’s impact during his early days at Ferrari alongside Sebastian Vettel: “Charles quickly took control of the team, and Lewis will be aware of that. Motivation is key.”
Reflecting on Hamilton’s first month at Ferrari, Herbert praised his smooth adaptation. Herbert believes the Ferrari SF-25 may better suit Hamilton’s driving style compared to his previous Mercedes. He noted, “The car looks more drivable and has a sharper front end, which Lewis Hamilton prefers. This could enhance his chances for an eighth title.”
As the Ferrari SF-25 shows promise in pre-season testing, the focus will be on Hamilton and Leclerc’s performance when the 2025 Formula 1 season begins in Melbourne, Australia.
