CHANDIGARH: Ten Punjab ministers are set to leave for the state's border areas on Thursday after the cabinet meeting to assess emergency preparedness.Ministers Lal Chand Kataruchakk and Dr. Ravjot Singh have been assigned to Gurdaspur, while ministers Kuldeep Dhaliwal and Mohinder Bhagat will oversee the review in Amritsar.The inspections will cover key facilities such as hospitals, fire stations, ration supply chains, and other emergency services to ensure the state is equipped to handle any crisis.According to the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), a total of 10 ministers will head to various border districts immediately after the day’s cabinet meeting.The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen emergency response infrastructure across sensitive areas.Officials said the on-ground assessments are crucial for identifying gaps in readiness and ensuring that residents in the border regions receive timely support if needed.The state government emphasized that these reviews reflect a proactive stance amid evolving national security dynamics.
