Punjab: Mandeep Singh had told family about tense situation

PATIALA: About 10 days before Naib Subedar Mandeep Singh laid down his life fighting the Chinese aggression at Galwan Valley, he had called up his family at Sheel village in Patiala district and told them that the situation was tense, but the Army was standing like a steel wall against any intrusion.
The 39-year-old soldier is survived by his mother Shakuntala, wife Gurdeep Kaur, 17-year-old daughter Mahekpreet Kaur and 10-year-old son Jobanpreet Singh and three sisters.
