Mudit Mittal takes charge as divisional railway manager of SWR
Mysuru: Mudit Mittal, a senior officer of the Indian Railways Accounts Service, assumed charge as the divisional railway manager (DRM) of the Mysuru division of South Western Railway (SWR) on Monday. He takes over from the outgoing DRM, Shilpi Agarwal.
Mittal belongs to the 1996 IRAS examination batch. He is an electronics and communications engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, and holds a master's degree in public administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, a release said.
Mittal served in various capacities across the country, including Hubballi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Gorakhpur, and Delhi. Before taking over as DRM, Mysuru, he served as executive director (finance) at Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL), the infrastructure arm of the ministry of Railways.
Besides his core expertise in finance and accounts, he also held important administrative roles such as chief public relations officer of West Central Railway and director of the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
This comes amidst Shilpi Agarwal's leadership, during which the Mysuru division witnessed the successful completion of several key infrastructure and public-oriented projects. Among these were the development of Ashokapuram station, yard remodelling works at multiple stations across the division, significant progress in station redevelopment initiatives, and a strong emphasis on staff welfare measures.
