Nagpur: Dr Sunil Gupta, senior diabetologist and founder of the Hello Diabetes Awareness Mission, represented India as faculty at 75th International Diabetes Federation (IDF) World Congress held in Bangkok.
On April 10, he delivered a talk at the Heart Failure Symposium on ‘How to diagnose heart failure in diabetes in different settings'.
Dr Gupta emphasised early diagnosis using clinical assessment, ECG, ECHO, and NT-Pro BNP testing to reduce hospitalizations and improve outcomes. He also moderated the oral poster discussion session on basic diabetes science. Additionally, the research team from his Nagpur-based centre presented four original papers on Type 1 diabetes and pregnancy, medical nutrition therapy, anaemia's impact on HbA1c, and fatty liver disease in diabetes.
