Pahalgam terror attack: 48 tourist sites shut in Kashmir amid security concerns

Following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government has reportedly closed 48 tourist destinations across the Kashmir Valley due to security concerns. While the tourism department has not officially confirmed the closures, security has been heightened in popular areas like Gulmarg and Sonamarg. The closed destinations include well-known spots such as Yusmarg, Tosamaidan and Verinag garden.

SRINAGAR: Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir government has shut down 48 tourist destinations across the Kashmir Valley for security reasons, sources said. However, there has been no official confirmation from the tourism department.
Sources said that the destinations include some famous nature retreats, resorts in Srinagar also.
The authorities have beefed up security all across Kashmir and deployment has been increased in tourist places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and the Dal Lake areas.
Earlier J&K forests department closed all its trekking destinations for tourists.

The sources said out of 87 tourist spots, 48 have been closed to tourists.
