Folk meets Hip-Hop: Shashwat Singh and Nikhita Gandhi debut with Kaahe

Playback singers Shashwat Singh and Nikhita Gandhi have teamed up to create a fresh musical identity, debuting with Kaahe, a fusion of folk and hip-hop now streaming on major platforms.
Friends since their days at A.R. Rahman’s music school, the duo has collaborated on numerous projects, blending diverse genres. "We’ve always experimented with styles—recently, Nikhita’s hip-hop productions and our shared love for folk inspired this new sound," says Shashwat.

Kaahe unfolds as a soulful dialogue between two souls navigating life’s struggles. Written and composed during the lockdown in Goa, its raw emotions and unique blend of traditional and contemporary elements set the tone for their evolving musical journey. "We wanted our debut to be all about the music, which is why the video is a simple performance visualization," adds Nikhita.
