Jennifer Lopez has made a fresh start by purchasing a new home near Los Angeles for approximately $18 million, following her finalized divorce from Ben Affleck.
According to property records, the actress and singer recently acquired the property, marking a new chapter in her life. Lopez and Affleck had initially shared a mansion in Beverly Hills, which they listed for sale in July 2024 for $68 million. The couple originally bought the luxurious property in June 2023 for just under $61 million. However, after struggling to find a buyer, they decided to officially put it on the market.
Their divorce was finalized on January 6, 2025, months after Lopez filed the paperwork on August 20, 2024, which also happened to be their second wedding anniversary. Reports indicate that she had already begun looking for a new home by April 2024. A source told PEOPLE that at the time, Lopez was interested in a highly private and exclusive Beverly Hills property, located on a quiet street with A-list celebrity neighbors. However, she ultimately decided to go with a different home.
Meanwhile, Affleck also moved forward with his own real estate plans. He purchased a home in Los Angeles for $20.5 million on July 24, 2024. According to PEOPLE, his new five-bedroom residence is described as family-friendly but could also serve as a bachelor pad. The neighborhood is known for being home to many entertainment industry figures and is considered sophisticated rather than trendy.
Interestingly, the same day Affleck closed on his new home, Lopez finalized the sale of her New York City condo. The Manhattan duplex, featuring four bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, had been on the market on and off for seven years before it was finally sold for $23 million. That sale coincided with Lopez’s 55th birthday.
Both stars appear to be moving forward with their individual lives, settling into new homes following their separation. While their shared mansion remains up for sale, their recent property decisions suggest they are focused on new beginnings.
