The analysis from Statista showed that Markle received overwhelmingly negative feedback and remarks for almost 50% of the mentions. Between 2018 and 2019, the ‘Suits?actress received twice as many negative comments as positive ones. However, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, faced no more than 8% negative remarks, according to The Independent.
In the Markle’s debut episode of the ‘Confessions of a Female Founder?podcast, Meghan, along with her ‘Bumble?founder friend, Whitney Wolfe Herd, spoke about the constant backlash and criticism from the media. Whitney recalled her trip to Ireland, where she saw Meghan’s face on every single magazine cover on the newsstand.
The backlash faced by Meghan Markle
“When I see the way that you’ve been treated in the media, which is a magnitude I’ll never understand, my heart breaks for you. It’s not fair, and it’s brutalising,?Herd expressed.
“I had this moment of ‘Oh my…what? I’m in Ireland. [You’re] back home in California doing school drop-off, [you’re] the front page of every single one of these things,?she added.
Acknowledging the hate, Meghan responded, “I know.?“No matter what point you’re at, there's going to be a point where you’re going to take a hit, and you’re going to have to decide whether you’re going to cower or if you’re going to conquer or rise above it,?the Duchess added.
Meghan Markle’s podcast, ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,?is a signed deal with Lemonada Media, where the episodes will be released weekly. The eight-part series will have ‘girl-talk?and advice on how to build a ‘billion-dollar business?as promised by the host herself.
