Saturday Night Live brought back comedy legend
Mike Myers for a show-stopping sketch that saw him parody none other than
Elon Musk. The Austin Powers star joined SNL regulars James Austin Johnson, who portrayed former U.S. President Donald Trump, and Marcello Hernandez, who took on the role of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Now available on SNL’s official YouTube channel, the sketch took inspiration from the rumored tensions between Musk and Rubio, humorously diving into the idea of Elon’s possible involvement in a future administration. As Trump addressed Rubio, he mistakenly renamed him “Mark Ruby,” jokingly citing a new law making English the official language of the country.
The laughter escalated when Myers’ Musk entered the scene. Rubio, visibly frustrated, exclaimed, “I can’t believe this is the guy you’ve given access to the entire government. He’s not an elected official!” Highlighting Musk’s controversial decisions, he continued, “Planes are crashing, and he keeps trying to fire air traffic control.”
Trump, in his signature style, dismissed concerns, saying, “Well, Elon knows a lot about air travel. Okay? He runs SpaceX, which is doing incredible things in terms of explosions concerning rocket debris.”
Adding to the hilarity, Myers’ Musk performed a quirky dance before channeling his iconic Dr. Evil character in a voiceover, stating, “Phase one of my plan is complete: ingratiate yourself to the president and take over the media. But was taking this job a bad idea? A lot of people seem to hate me, like, Tesla stock is crashing, and my net worth just dropped by 100 billion dollars.”
Alongside the political satire, SNL had another major highlight this week—Lady Gaga took on double duty as both host and musical guest. The pop icon celebrated the release of her sixth studio album, Mayhem, featuring 12 new tracks. In her opening monologue, she playfully addressed the disappointing box office performance of Joker 2 and made it clear that she had no plans to star in a potential Joker 3.
With a mix of sharp political humor and A-list musical talent, this episode of SNL delivered on all fronts, keeping fans entertained and the internet buzzing.
