Mithada Maheman Movie Review : A fun roller coaster ride with strong performances
Critic's Rating: 3.5/5
Story: Aditya, 25, is on his way to jump into a torrent dam to attempt suicide, when a car driver stops him and asks him to join for a road trip, trying to change his mind. Meanwhile, Komal asks for a lift and shares the trip with them after her car breaks down. Jay, the third passenger, just wants a lift till the next station. The story revolves around how three co-passengers try to help Aditya to overcome his suicidal thoughts, followed by a series of chaos, drama and twists and turns.
Review: Making his debut as a writer and director, Chinmay Parmar has converted a complex screenplay into a simple, heartwarming film. From strong philosophical dialogues to a soothing background score, audiences are constantly hooked. Music by Rahul Munjariya and lyrics by Bhargav and Nandan Purohit are soothing. Safar by Jigardan Gadhavi will certainly be added to the list of songs during your next road trip, not to forget the groovy title song by Aditya Gadhvi.
Breaking away from his image of a strong, heroic character, Yash Soni surprises the audience as Aditya. From showcasing innocence to breaking down during emotional scenes, Yash successfully taps into the Karuna Rasa. Aarohi, as Komal, is a comforting character, reminding us that we all need a friend who stands by us and offers a reality check. While Mitra Gadhvi has played several comic characters, Jay hits you differently with powerful comic timing. Mihir Nishith Rajda will quietly occupy a place in your heart with his Krishna-like portrayal of Hari (for Aditya). Sonaalee Lele Desai has limited screen presence but watch out for her silent tears that scream emotions.
While the first half leaves you intrigued about what the plot twist might be, the second half feels a bit dragged. But it’s a film worth watching with the family over the weekend-a beautiful, fun and chaotic road trip you must undertake.
