Makarand Deshpande’s renowned, 17-year-old play ‘Sir, Sir Sarla’, which was until now staged in Hindi will now be performed in Gujarati in Mumbai, next week. The story depicts the life of three people interlinked with their love for poetry and literature where the professor is everybody’s guiding light and shares great camaraderie with his students.
Sarla is besotted with Prof GP Pithadia, who she thinks is the ideal man for her, who can motivate her and challenge her poetry skills and always pushes her to do better in life.

The professor doesn't feel the same and feels that Keshav is the ideal match for her. Phanidhar who loves Sarla feels the professor was partial to Keshav. And Keshav loves Sarla immensely but always is a loss for words.
Embroiled in these twists and turns of emotions, the play’s key focus is on love and oscillates between reality and memories of the past… sweet but unsettling.
Adapted by Saurabh Shah, the play stars actors Pratik Gandhi, Bhamini Oza Gandhi, Shivam Parekh and Ninad Limaye.
