Aryan Khan is debuting as a director with 'The Ba**ds of Bollywood', casting Bobby Deol and Raghav Juyal against their typical villain roles for a fresh appeal. Bobby Deol and Raghav Juyal to show a new side in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut? Here’s new update on 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood'
Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, is stepping into the spotlight—behind the camera. His much-awaited directorial debut, titled 'The Ba**ds of Bollywood'*, is already creating a buzz, and it’s not just because it marks Aryan’s first big project. What’s got fans talking even more is a surprising casting update—Bobby Deol and Raghav Juyal will not be playing villains in this series.

Bobby and Raghav’s image shake-up
Both Bobby and Raghav have recently won over fans with their dark and intense roles. Bobby stunned audiences with his villainous turn in 'Animal' and the hit series 'Aashram'. Meanwhile, Raghav was praised for his chilling act in 'Kill'. Given this strong image as on-screen baddies, many expected them to bring that same energy to Aryan’s show.
But according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Aryan had other plans. As reported by the portal, “It’s a deliberate creative decision to cast Bobby and Raghav against type. In recent times, both of them have built a reputation for playing brooding, powerful antagonists, so watching them in completely new avatars will be a refreshing change for the audience.” The report also mentioned that the series will showcase Bobby and Raghav like never before, highlighting a new chemistry between them that fans have not seen before.

What is 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' all about?
The series was officially revealed by Shah Rukh Khan in February 2025. And if you saw that teaser video, you’d remember the fun father-son banter that took centre stage. SRK cheekily called the series, “the biggest, baddest, bravest, wackiest, funniest, cheekiest, maddest, filmiest show on earth.” From that alone, we already knew this wasn’t going to be your average Bollywood tale.
The official synopsis describes it as: “An ambitious outsider and his friends navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood. The series blends self-aware humour with a high-stakes narrative — and promises a host of unforgettable cameos, blockbuster thrills, and an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema.”

All set to drop after IPL?
According to a Pinkvilla report, 'The Ba**ds of Bollywood'* is expected to premiere in the first week of June 2025—right after the Indian Premier League ends.
