Legendary actor Dr Shreeram Lagoo passed away today due to old age. He was 92.
He worked in over 100 Hindi films, over 40 Marathi movies and Gujarati films and plays. His role as Ganpatrao aka Appasaheb Belvalkar in the famous Marathi play 'Natasamrat' received a lot of appreciation and love from all the quarters. The play was written by Kusumagraj (Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar).

He played the role of Professor Gopal Krishna Gokhale in 'Gandhi'.
Now, Bollywood celebs took to their respective social media accounts to mourn the demise of the veteran actor.
Rishi Kapoor tweeted, "R I P. One of the most natural spontaneous actors, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo sahab leaves us. Did several films way back. Unfortunately never got to work with him in the past 25/30 years. He had a retired life in Pune. Love you Dr. Sahab."

While Paresh Rawal posted, "Truly a GREAT theatre actor Dr Shreeram Lagoo Saab is no more . AUM Shanti ."

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit wrote, "Sad to know about the demise of a great actor Shriram Lagoo ji at the age of 92. The theatre & film industry will miss him.
ओम् शांति !"

Minister of Information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar took to his Twitter to mourn the demise of the legend. He tweeted, "My tributes to all time great artist Shreeram Lagoo. We have lost a versatile personality. A unique theatre actor dominated silver screen and created impact. He was social activists simultaneously."

The actor received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for the Hindi film 'Gharaonda' in 1978. In 2006, he was awarded with Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratisthan for his contribution to cinema and theatre.
He was born in Satara on November 16, 1927 and took his last breath in Pune.
