He shared that Amitabh Bachchan has been a major influence in his life and recalled a scene where Bachchan was rehearsing for what seemed like the 16th or 17th time. While everyone else, including Taapsee Pannu, was exhausted, some even dozed off, but Bachchan remained determined, insisting they continue rehearsing.
Reflecting on how 'Badla' came to fruition, Sujoy Ghosh explained that the film happened because of Taapsee Pannu. He mentioned that she initially brought the script to him, but he had declined to direct it at first. Later, Akshay and Sunil approached him with the same project, indicating they were making changes.
Ghosh agreed to direct it, but only on the condition that he could cast Amitabh Bachchan and rewrite the script. Once they accepted his terms, he took on the project.
For the unversed, 'Badla' is a mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles.
