Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the renowned actress and former Miss World, has always been admired for her elegance and poise. After marrying Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, she became a part of the illustrious Bachchan family. The couple welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in 2011. In a past interview, Aishwarya expressed her admiration for veteran actress and mother in law Jaya Bachchan, wishing to be remembered in a similar light.

Aishwarya has been selective about her roles, often avoiding projects that require intimate scenes. This decision reflects her commitment to maintaining a dignified image, especially considering her role as a daughter-in-law and mother. As quoted by BollywoodShaadis.com, Aishwarya said, "I won’t discard my image with my clothes. I will be happy even if I get no work. Certain things have to be private for the man you love, the family you go to as a daughter-in-law and finally, as a mother. If tomorrow, they are embarrassed seeing what I did on screen, I would be ashamed. My stardom will last another 10 years, but my family life will last for the rest of my life. I want to be a Hema Malini or a Jaya Bachchan and be remembered like that."

Despite her selective approach to roles, Aishwarya took on the character of Saba in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', which featured intimate scenes with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. This departure from her usual reservations sparked discussions among fans and critics. Aishwarya clarified that her decision was influenced by her long-standing friendship with director Karan Johar and her desire to work with him. She found the role appealing and felt it was the right opportunity to collaborate with Johar. As per India TV news she said, “I’d always meant to work with Karan; there were many missed opportunities, and I didn’t want this to be one again. The film was an act of friendship.”
Throughout her career, Aishwarya has declined roles that conflicted with her principles. Notably, she turned down significant Hollywood projects as well. Over the years, Aishwarya has grown more selective with her film choices. She was last seen in the 2023 film 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'.
