Former Miss Kerala and actress, Deepti Sati was working in Manju Warrier-Biju Menon movie Lalitham Sundaram when lockdown was declared. She has been in Mumbai for the past nine months and is planning to come to Kochi soon as the shoot would resume by the beginning of December.
Talking about coming back to her ‘favourite’ place Kochi, after so many months, Deepti says she is excited.
“This is the first time in my life, after I started working, I have not traveled to Kerala for so long. I get to meet my friends, eat a lot of food. Pearle and I are good friends and she is pregnant too. I have not seen her baby bump. Kerala is like my home ground,” she says. The Neena actress also adds that she did not step out of her house until last month.
“All my life, this was the only year which wasn't a happening one. I live with my parents and I was extremely careful about my parents health. In Mumbai, it's very risky to get out of the homes. All I have done this year was shooting a couple of ads, that too last month,” she says. Deepti also adds that like many, even she thought her 2020 would be really special. “The year started with a lot of excitement from back to back shoots in different languages like Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada and I really thought this year is going to rock. It was also challenging for me due to travels and quick language switch. When lockdown declared, I thought I would take rest for 21 days but didn't know it would extend for almost a year,” she says.
However, Deepti has used the time really well. “I got to spend a lot of quality time with my parents after a while. For the first four-five months, I was really chilled out and doing things that I love. I learnt Spanish my own, watched movies, did yoga and meditation and helped mom in the kitchen. I never felt, 'oh my God, I am locked up at home',” she says.
