Prabu’s nephew Jayadusshyanth returns to films with a Malayalam thriller

Prabu’s nephew Jayadusshyanth returns to films with a Malayalam thriller
His grandfather, Shivaji Ganesan, and uncle Prabhu are much-respected by Malayali film buffs, and now Jayadusshyanth is set to make his debut in Malayalam through recently announced thriller Asthraa, helmed by debut director Azaad Alavil. Saying that the love his family received was very much reciprocated, Jayadusshyanth, who debuted in a couple of lead roles in Tamil soon after college in 2003, has a reason for choosing to make his comeback through Malayalam.
“My grandfather had great admiration for Malayalam cinema, as did my uncle.

I too am a big fan, but apart from that, I decided to do Malayalam, because when I make my return after so long, I wanted to choose something different. And if I do supporting or negative roles, this industry is the best, because even the smaller characters, such as those doing even a couple of scenes are well written. And I feel I can attract opportunities through a good role. When the team did the narration, the script and role interested me,” he says.

Jijuraj, who is acting in and co-wrote the film with Vinu K Mohan, tells us that it is an investigative thriller. “We will start shoot next month. Wayanad and Sulthan Bathery, where the shoot takes place, is integral to the story,” he says.

Debutant Suhassini Kumaran, also from Chennai, plays the female lead, and her character and that of Jayadusshyanth are cohorts. Amith Chakalakkal plays the lead as a police investigator. Mani Perumal is the DoP. Lyrics are by BK Harinarayanan and music is by Mohan Sithara.
