The hunt has been on for some time to find the lead actress of cricketer Sreesanth’s southern movie debut.
The latest we hear is that the makers have roped in Tollywood actress Shanvi Srivastava for the role.
Confirming the news, its director Sana Yadi Reddy tells us, “We are in the final phase of discussions with her. Everything is in place; we now just have to plan the shooting dates.” A source close to the production house tells us that the actress, who had previously done Adda and Rowdy in Telugu, is already on board.

“Shanvi is thrilled to be part of the project. She would be playing an actress in the movie and her character is romantically involved with the cricketer, played by Sreesanth,” says the source.
With the two leads roped in, the makers are now fast tracking the rest of the casting, to begin filming early next year. The movie will revolve around the life of a cricketer. “It will touch upon the affairs, betting scandals and of course, the game itself,” explains the source. “The first schedule will be in Alappuzha where the portions about the cricketer’s life before fame will be shot.”
We hear that Sreesanth, who is also part of Pooja Bhatt’s Bollywood film Cabaret, is busy preparing for the role in the Sana Yadi Reddy movie. “He is reducing his weight so he gets to play the different phases of the cricketer’s life effectively. Also, there will be a 10-day acting workshop in December or January for the cast,” the source reveals.
