Ashok Shinde returns to theatre

Actors Ashok Shinde who has been a part of over 111 Marathi films and 100 television serials is returning to theatre after a gap of 12 years with ‘Prem.. Prem Asta’.
Ashok was last seen in ‘Sahakutumb Dot Com’ 12 years ago. When asked him what brought him back to theatre, he said, “The same thing which keeps bringing stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Anupam Kher back to theatre has brought me back too.I started my career as an actor with theatre. I got too busy with film and television hence I couldn’t devote time to theatre. It is essential to do theatre as it helps us improve as actors.”

Speaking about ‘Prem.. Prem Asta’, Shinde said, “I am glad that I am back to theatre and I can’t wait to go on stage on July 2. It is a very different experience to perform live. You don’t get that kind of a satisfaction as an artist from television or films. The live performance needs immense concentration and confidence.”
Actress Maithili Warang plays his wife in this play based on modern day husband-wife relationship. The play shows the ups and downs that a middle aged couple goes in their relationship.
