OTT platform releases 'MAD' in Hindi as 'MAD Square' continues box office success

Comedy drama 'MAD Square, directed by Kalyan Shankar, hit the theatres on March 28 and has been enjoying a successful run ever since. The newly released film is a sequel to the 2023 hit 'MAD', the film brings back Narne Nithin, Ram Nithin, and Sangeeth Shobhan in their original roles.
Netflix Releases Hindi Version of 'MAD'
As per a 123Telugu report, as 'MAD Square' enjoys its theatrical success, Netflix has released the Hindi version of 'MAD', giving Hindi-speaking audiences a chance to experience the franchise's first film. Speculation is rife that 'MAD Square' will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run.
'MAD Square' opened to phenomenal bookings and decent reviews, drawing impressive footfalls despite stiff competition. The film’s weekend collections are expected to surpass those of the previous days, indicating strong momentum at the box office. Early audience reactions have praised its situational humor and engaging story, making it a popular choice for families and college students alike.
The story picks up where 'MAD' left off, following the characters’ post-college lives. Laddu played by Vishnu Oi returns as the narrator, setting the tone for another laughter-filled adventure. The first half is packed with laugh-out-loud moments, particularly during Laddu’s wedding sequence. However, as the story shifts to Goa with a robbery subplot, some humor feels inconsistent. While Vishnu Oi’s impeccable comic timing steals the show, weak character arcs and an uneven second half hold the film back from matching the charm of its prequel.

The technical team has played a crucial role in elevating the film’s appeal. Cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen and editor Navin Nooli bring visual finesse to the project. Bheems Ceciroleo gives the music of the film including the tracks like 'Swathi Reddy' and 'Laddu Gaani Pelli.'
